LIACOM integrated researchers Júlia Leitão de Barros and Pedro Marques Gomes, together with Jorge Pedro Sousa, José Ricardo Carvalheiro, and Lídia Marôpo, are the editors of the recently published book Memory of the News: Studies on the History of News Reception in Portugal.
In addition to co-editing the volume, Júlia Leitão de Barros authored the chapter “The Problematic Nature of Memory, Memory as a Problem: News from the Past,” while Pedro Marques Gomes contributed the chapter “‘There Is an Uprising Underway and I Don’t Know What Else’: Memory(ies) of Media Reception of the 25 April Revolution.”
The book presents the results of the MemNews research project, funded by the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT), and is available in open access.
