LIACOM researchers Alexandra Miguel and Sandra Miranda will participate in the 3rd Corporate Activism Conference, taking place on 11 June 2026, in an online format, as part of an international academic forum dedicated to discussing contemporary transformations in the relationships between organisations, society, and strategic communication. The research centre will be represented through two scientific presentations exploring different dimensions of corporate activism and its organisational and social impacts.

Alexandra Miguel and Sandra Miranda will present the paper “Organisational Coherence in Corporate Activism: Internal Communication, Identification and Moral Elevation in Promoting Employees’ Pro-social and Pro-environmental Attitudes”, which examines the role of coherence between organisational discourse and practice within the context of corporate activism. Furthermore, the study explores how internal communication processes and mechanisms of organisational identification and moral elevation may contribute to fostering employees’ pro-social and pro-environmental attitudes.

In addition, Alexandra Miguel is also co-author, together with Miguel Mateus and Renato Pereira, of the paper “When Disney Took a Stand: A Case Study on the Impact of Brand Activism and Authenticity on Portuguese Consumers’ Purchase Intention”, which presents an analysis of the impact of brands’ sociopolitical positioning on Portuguese consumers’ responses, with particular attention to the relationship between perceptions of authenticity and purchase intention through a case study focused on The Walt Disney Company.

The Iberian meeting will follow a hybrid format: online, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., and in person at the University of Barcelona, from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m..
