On December 11 and 12, 2025, the Symposium “History of Communication Studies in the Portuguese-Speaking World” will take place entirely online. The event is jointly organized by LIACOM/ESCS – Polytechnic Institute of Lisbon and the Faculty of Communication at the University of Brasília, through professors and researchers Filipa Subtil (LIACOM/ESCS) and Rafiza Varão (University of Brasília).

The symposium also has the institutional support of key scientific organizations from the Portuguese-speaking world: SOPCOM (Portugal), INTERCOM (Brazil), ACICOM (Mozambique), and the U.S.-based journal History of Media Studies, further reinforcing the international and collaborative nature of the initiative.
