LIACOM was recently accredited by the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT), having obtained a “Good” rating in the evaluation process as a research unit for the period 2025-2029.
This accreditation allows LIACOM to access funding from FCT, which represents an important step towards strengthening and developing the research center. The resources now allocated will be essential not only to continue ongoing projects, but to initiate new research projects aligned with the center’s strategic objectives.
Among the main objectives of LIACOM are the creation of observatories in the areas of strategic communication and consumption, the development of a laboratory dedicated to journalistic trends, the consolidation of a research structure guided by a multidisciplinary approach, as well as the strengthening of the connection with the professional sector and the international community. One of the major milestones planned is also the implementation of a doctoral program, promoting advanced training and the development of scientific careers.
With this accreditation, LIACOM reinforces its position as an emerging research center in the area of Communication Sciences, with a clear vocation for innovation, interprofessional collaboration and social impact.
