Fátima Lopes Cardoso, researcher at LIACOM, is a member of the jury for the Portugal-Germany 2025 Journalism Grants, an initiative coordinated by the Goethe-Institut Portugal, which has been ongoing since January 13, 2025.

The Portugal-Germany Journalism Grants aim to encourage and support the creation of excellent journalistic pieces in Portugal, on political, economic, social, cultural or historical themes, relating to Germany, in the European and international context, which contribute to mutual understanding between the two countries and are worthy of recognition, for promoting the importance of independent and professional journalism, an essential basis of European democracy.

The other members of the jury are Miguel Crespo, professor at ISCTE-IUL and director of Cenjor, and António Perez Metelo, current director of Helpo and former journalist in Economics, on the television channels RTP, SIC and TVI or Expresso, JN and DN.
