The ERC – Regulatory Authority for the Media has opened the application period for the first edition of the Mário Mesquita Prize for Media Regulation, aimed at recognising original postgraduate academic research in the field of media and journalism regulation.

The prize, awarded on an annual basis, is valued at €5,000.

Applications are open until 30 April 2026. Submissions must include the application form and be sent by email to premio-mariomesquita@erc.pt or by registered mail to:

The prize will be awarded by an independent jury, composed of three members appointed by the ERC Regulatory Council for each edition.
