The Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) has announced the opening of the Stimulus for Individual Scientific Employment Stimulus – 8th Edition. According to information provided by FCT, applications will be accepted from December 15, 2025, to January 29, 2026, with the confirmation phase by host institutions taking place from January 30 to February 13, 2026.

LIACOM expresses interest in hosting applications with high potential for integration into its scientific strategy, situated within the field of Communication Sciences and aligned with its core research axes, which reflect diverse theoretical, methodological, and empirical approaches to contemporary communication:

• Axis 1: Media, Culture, and Technology – focusing on the thematic lines: Climate, Territory, and Sustainability; Democracy, Literacy, and Citizenship; Technology and Mediation; and Ethics and Professional Practices;
  
• Axis 2: Communication, Strategy, and Creativity – focusing on the thematic lines: Communication in the Public Interest; Organizational Dynamics and Challenges; and Strategies, Brands, and Consumption.

In this context, researchers interested in indicating LIACOM as their host institution should submit an expression of interest via a dedicated form by January 12, 2026. LIACOM will provide its feedback on the submitted expressions of interest by January 19, 2026.

The Stimulus for Individual Scientific Employment is open to PhD holders, whether national, foreign, or stateless, from all scientific areas, who intend to carry out research or technological development activities in Portugal. Proposals must be submitted in English, through a dedicated form accessible electronically on myFCT.
