Several LIACOM researchers participated with communications, as speakers or as moderators of thematic tables in the 2nd International Colloquium Lusophony in Debate: The media in Lusophony, from Camões to Artificial Intelligence, organized by the research group Chrome Photo/GENEM – Study Group on the New Ecology of the Media of the São Paulo State University – UNESP (Brazil), together with ESCS-IPL (Portugal) and LIACOM.
Researchers Jorge Veríssimo and Xabier Martínez-Rolán were the speakers, respectively, at the conference “Advertising, the media and the market: Portuguese realities” and “The academy and the opportunities and ethical challenges regarding generative artificial intelligence”.
In turn, researchers Denis Renó and Fátima Lopes Cardoso were moderators of the thematic panel “Image and Photography”, Jorge Trindade was one of the moderators of the thematic panel “Analysis and production of communicational discourses”, Jorge Veríssimo and Xabier Martínez-Rolán moderated the thematic panel “Advertising and Market”, Júlia Leitão de Barros co-moderated the thematic panel “History of Communication”, and Sandra Miranda was one of the moderators of the thematic panel “Disinformation and polarizations in the media”.
Finally, researchers Denis Renó, Hadassa Oliveira, Patrícia Bandeira de Melo and Xabier Martínez-Rolán presented communications at the event’s thematic tables.
The congress took place between the 20th and 22nd of May, in an online format, and aimed to explore the evolution and role of the media in the Portuguese-speaking world, from the era of Luís de Camões to the contemporary challenges imposed by artificial intelligence.
