LIACOM researcher Hadassa Oliveira successfully defended her dissertation titled “Female Beauty, Representativeness and the Fourth Wave of Feminism: A comparative analysis of Brazilian and Portuguese advertising campaigns for fashion brands and cosmetic products/services”, as part of the public examinations for the PhD in Communication Sciences at Iscte – University Institute of Lisbon, in partnership with the School of Communication and Media Studies – Polytechnic Institute of Lisbon.

The examination committee was composed of Professor Rita Espanha (Committee Chair – CIES-Iscte-IUL), Professor Rodrigo Daniel Sanches (Centro Universitário Belas Artes de São Paulo), Professor Carla Cerqueira (Universidade Lusófona, Braga), Professor Rita Basílio de Simões (University of Coimbra), Professor Cláudia Álvares (CIES-Iscte-IUL), and the supervisors Professor Jorge Veríssimo (LIACOM – ESCS) and Professor Tiago Lapa (CIES-Iscte-IUL).

Hadassa Oliveira received the highest possible grade, being approved unanimously and with distinction.
