LIACOM researcher Filipa Subtil will take part on October 10, at 5:00 p.m., in the talk “Matérias do Agora #6: What role does journalism play in the spread of hate speech and populism?”.

The event will take place at the Cine-Teatro São Pedro de Alcanena, as part of the Festival Materiais Diversos, which runs from October 3 to 12, 2025, in Minde and Alcanena.

With free admission, the session invites the public to reflect on the challenges journalism faces in light of the rise of populism and the spread of hate speech.
