Two students from the Master’s in Strategic Public Relations Management at the School of Communication and Media Studies (ESCS-IPL), Diana Pimentel and Raissa Cavaignac, took part in the 19th Conference of the Asociación de Investigadores de Relaciones Públicas (AIRP), held in Tenerife under the theme “Public Relations in the Age of Chaos.”
Both students presented papers co-authored with Mafalda Eiró-Gomes, ESCS professor and LIACOM researcher, as part of their academic journey and early research experience during the master’s program. Diana Pimentel presented the paper “Public/Digital Diplomacy as a Public Relations Function: The Case of the European Union at the COPs”, while Raissa Cavaignac presented “The Public Relations/Public Diplomacy Function: The Case of the Embassies of Poland, Norway, and Kuwait in Portugal.”
This participation highlights the importance of the connection between teaching and scientific research, within a long-standing collaboration between ESCS’s Public Relations Section and the Spanish academic community. Over nearly three decades, this partnership has resulted in multiple contributions to the conferences organized by AIRP, strengthening the Portuguese role in the Iberian debate on Public Relations.
