Issue 37 of Comunicação Pública magazine is now available online. The new edition of the ESCS and LIACOM scientific journal includes a dossier dedicated to the theme “Digital culture: mediatization, surveillance and public space”.
The new issue is available for free consultation on the Open Journal System (OJS) website.
Issue with thematic dossier
The dossier “Digital culture: mediatization, surveillance and public space”, edited by Silvia Valencich Frota and Nuno Medeiros, professors at the Faculty of Arts of the University of Lisbon and researchers at the Center for Comparative Studies, brings together a set of articles whose objective is to stimulate academic discussion on the impact of new technologies on a society marked, on the one hand, by the abundance of information and data and, on the other, by a deep and widespread crisis of trust, with all the potential for disruption and instability that can be associated with it.
In addition to the thematic dossier, consisting of 8 articles, the new issue also includes two articles and two reviews, some written by LIACOM researchers.
About the jornal
The Comunicação Pública journal is a multidisciplinary editorial project aimed at publishing research works, theoretical essays and critical notes that, regardless of the diversity of perspectives, languages, contexts and objectives that characterize them, make forms of human communication their theme of reflection.
Call for papers
Submission of articles for the journal’s next thematic dossier, dedicated to the theme “Humor and Communication”, is open until February 7, 2025. Issue 38 will be published in June 2025.
