LIACOM researcher Filipa Subtil, in co-ordination with José Nuno Matos and Carla Baptista, launched the book “Outro jornalismo é possível. Media alternativos em Portugal”, in which independent, activist, participatory and community journalism practices are debated, with a view to promoting social change and diversity in journalism.
The work, published by the publisher Outro Mundo, has also a chapter written by Filipa Subtil – “Fighting fascism and female oppression: journalist and writer Maria Lamas and photoreporting. The women of my country” -, as well as by two other LIACOM researchers:
“‘Has the colonel called yet?’ Resistance in newspaper offices (1926-1974)”, by Júlia Leitão de Barros.
“The renewal of Seara Nova and cultural resistance to the Estado Novo (1958-1961)”, by Pedro Marques Gomes.
