{"id":4076,"date":"2026-11-02T15:46:00","date_gmt":"2026-11-02T15:46:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/liacom.escs.ipl.pt\/?p=4076"},"modified":"2026-11-02T15:47:49","modified_gmt":"2026-11-02T15:47:49","slug":"fernanda-bonacho-foi-convidada-como-oradora-principal-em-conferencia-europeia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/liacom.escs.ipl.pt\/en\/publicacoes\/fernanda-bonacho-foi-convidada-como-oradora-principal-em-conferencia-europeia\/","title":{"rendered":"Fernanda Bonacho was invited as keynote speaker at European conference"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On 22 October, Fernanda Bonacho, chairholder of the <a href=\"https:\/\/catedraunesco.escs.ipl.pt\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">UNESCO Chair of Communication, Media and Information Literacy and Citizenship<\/a> (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.escs.ipl.pt\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ESCS-UPL<\/a>\/<a href=\"https:\/\/liacom.escs.ipl.pt\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">LIACOM<\/a>), participated as a keynote speaker at the <a href=\"https:\/\/teachers4digitalage.eu\/future-ready-teachers-for-future-ready-learners-join-us-in-brussels-on-22-october-2026\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">conference<\/a> \u201cFuture-Ready Teachers for Future-Ready Learners\u201d, held in Brussels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In her presentation, the researcher emphasised the urgency of recognising that media literacy is no longer merely an addition to education, but rather an essential condition for the survival of democracy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The event marked the end of the European project <a href=\"https:\/\/teachers4digitalage.eu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Teachers 4.0 Digital<\/a>, an initiative involving 16 European organisations dedicated to empowering educators in digital literacy and the fight against disinformation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The project aims to foster public debate and contribute \u201cto policy reform on digital literacy education at national and European levels\u201d, according to its official <a href=\"https:\/\/teachers4digitalage.eu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">website<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In addition to Fernanda Bonacho\u2019s keynote address, the conference also featured a presentation of the outcomes of the Digital First and Teachers 4.0 projects in the field of digital education; practical workshops on learning analytics, teachers\u2019 skills, digital well-being and combating disinformation; and a panel discussion entitled \u201cTeaching Digital Natives: Beyond Digital Skills\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Among the partners in the Teachers 4.0 Digital project, <a href=\"https:\/\/eavi.eu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">EAVI<\/a> (European Association for Viewers Interests) has been involved with the UNESCO Chair of Communication, Media and Information Literacy and Citizenship since its inception.
