The new issue of the scientific journal of ESCS and\u00a0<strong>LIACOM\u00a0<\/strong>includes a thematic dossier dedicated to the topic \u201cPublic Service Media and Innovation.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The new issue is available for open access on the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/journals.ipl.pt\/cpublica\/issue\/view\/87\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Open Journal System<\/a>\u00a0(OJS) website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><br><strong>Issue with a Thematic Dossier<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The dossier&nbsp;<strong>\u201cPublic Service Media and Innovation,\u201d<\/strong>&nbsp;edited by Elton Bruno Pinheiro and Lu\u00eds Ant\u00f3nio Santos, lecturers at the University of Minho and researchers at the Centre for Communication and Society Studies, brings together a set of articles aimed at understanding how Public Service Media, across different territories, are innovating, can and\/or should innovate, or face challenges to innovation (in programming, management, social participation, funding, and regulation). This takes place particularly within a political-economic and sociocultural context in which phenomena such as disinformation, hate speech, and various forms of populism are increasingly present\u2014especially in the socio-digital media environment\u2014placing society, citizenship, democracy, and life itself under strain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In addition to the thematic dossier, which comprises 9 articles, the new issue also includes one article and two book reviews.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>About the Journal<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.escs.ipl.pt\/investigacao\/revista-comunicacao-publica\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Comunica\u00e7\u00e3o P\u00fablica<\/a>&nbsp;is a multidisciplinary editorial project dedicated to publishing research papers, theoretical essays, and critical notes which, regardless of the diversity of perspectives, languages, contexts, and objectives that characterize them, take forms of human communication as their central subject of reflection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Issue 40 of the Comunica\u00e7\u00e3o P\u00fablica journal is now available online.
