The documentary tells the story of how Maria became a reader and, later, a teacher. In the film, Maria returns to her hometown, a small locality in the interior of the Algarve, to revisit the moments that sparked her interest in books, including a remarkable episode of unexpected reading during a mass in her childhood.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The session invites discussion on the role of communication\u2014particularly audiovisual communication\u2014in promoting reading, while also exploring the potential of audiovisual media as an educational tool and a means of preserving memory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The documentary stems from the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.doc-edu.pt\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">DOC-EDU<\/a> project, developed by the School of Communication and Media Studies (ESCS-IPL) and <strong>LIACOM<\/strong>, in partnership with the School of Education of Lisbon (ESELx), with funding from the Polytechnic University of Lisbon (IPL) through the IDI&#038;CA program.
