As part of the celebrations marking the 10th anniversary of\u00a0LIACOM\u2019s\u00a0<\/strong>research structure, the Oral Memory Archive of Communication Professions (AMOPC)<\/a>, a call is now open for the submission of proposals for documentary videos and audiovisual essays that make critical and creative use of the archive\u2019s collection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Proposals should contribute to academic reflection on communication and media professions, exploring oral memory as a source of historical, sociological, cultural, and political knowledge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Innovative artistic and formal approaches are also encouraged, provided they are developed using the AMOPC collection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thematic Areas<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Proposals may address, among others, the following thematic areas:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2713 Access to professional activities: from informal learning to professionalization;
\u2713 Working conditions and production routines;
\u2713 Technological disruptions and transformations in professional practice;
\u2713 Constraints, limits, and tensions in the exercise of professions;
\u2713 The influence and impact of different historical contexts and major events on professional activities (25 April 1974, 1 May 1974, Portugal\u2019s entry into the EEC in 1986, strikes, among others);
\u2713 Boundaries and redefinitions of professional activities;
\u2713 Technological reconfiguration of communication and media professions;
\u2713 Autonomy and heteronomy in the exercise of professional activities;
\u2713 Any thematic axis that creatively explores, from an artistic, formal, or conceptual perspective, the AMOPC audiovisual collection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Submission Conditions<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Proposals must comply with the following conditions:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Format:<\/strong> scientific documentary video or audiovisual essay;
Final piece duration:<\/strong> between 15 and 30 minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mandatory elements of the proposal:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2713 Synopsis (including theoretical and methodological framework);
\u2713 Technical sheet (authorship, institutional affiliation, contacts, technical resources);
\u2713 Other elements considered relevant for the evaluation of the proposal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Submitted proposals will be evaluated by a scientific committee, based on thematic relevance, conceptual quality, methodological rigor, adequacy to the AMOPC collection, and contribution to knowledge on communication and media professions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Schedule<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

30 June 2026:<\/strong> submission of final projects (synopsis, technical sheet, and edited piece).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Presentation and Dissemination<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The selected works will be screened and discussed as part of the celebrations of the <\/strong>10th anniversary of AMOPC, to be held on a date to be announced in due course. Whenever possible, their dissemination will be promoted in academic, educational, and cultural contexts associated with the project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
